Shaun Land grew up in various rural locations in Britain and the Far East, with both parents in the Armed Forces. As a consequence, the need to constantly change schools left him with a patchy education, although his artistic skills followed him wherever the family settled.
Shaun was always able to draw from an early age and, saving his pocket money, he bought himself an oil painting set and taught himself to paint.
After a short career in the RAF, Shaun settled in East Dorset and now spends his time painting his local area and favourite beauty spots, particularly the chines, cliff tops and zigzag pathways of the Bournemouth and Poole’s beautiful coastline. He paints in plein air throughout the year and has become a familiar sight working at his easel, between Hengistbury Head and Sandbanks.
