Original paintings by Royo

Born 1941 in Valencia, Spain. An early talent manifested in his father employing tutors to instruct Royo in drawing, painting and sculpture. Royo then went on to study art at San Carlos Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Valencia. On leaving the Royal Academy he added to his skills by creating theatre sets, graphic illustrations and restoration work. His use of colour and texturing capture his subject matter with unique flair.

Royo's treatment of the female model, caught in a serene contemplative moment, are admired by his many collectors. Royo received a commission to paint the royal portraits of King Juan Carlos and Queen Sofia of Spain, and in addition, many prominent political and society figures.
