Chris Overbeeke was born in Haaksbergen (The Netherlands) in 1946.

He learned his craft at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design Enschede.

Overbeeke’s work consists of still-life paintings, and paintings of subjects of scenery, in a technique derived from the 16th- and 17th-century masters, but with contemporary material and objects, including objects of some nostalgic charm. His aim is to combine composition and colour. The objects and fruit and also the realism used are secondary to the aim of radiating beauty, simplicity and brilliance.

Chris Overbeeke’s work is purchased by private persons and by collectors in the Netherlands and abroad. Much of his work finds its way to collectors in the Netherlands, United Kingdom, Germany and the United States.
